Pediatric Dental Care

First Visit

Your child’s first visit to the pediatric dentist should be enjoyable and positive. According to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), children should visit the dentist by their first birthday. Children’s teeth typically begin erupting between 6-12 months of age, and it is important that they receive proper dental care and benefit from proper oral hygiene habits right from the beginning.  Routine cleanings for children are especially important in creating positive self-esteem and lessening anxiety should treatment be needed in the future.

Sealants

Tooth sealants are recommended because they seal the deep grooves and pits in your child’s teeth, providing protection against decay from forming in these hard-to-reach areas. Sealants last for several years, but will be monitored at regular checkups.

Comprehensive Care

In addition to preventative dental care for children, we also provide comprehensive dental care for children, such as fillings, pulpotomies (root canals on children’s teeth), stainless steel crowns, extractions, and space maintainers.  Your child’s dental problems are best prevented by routine cleanings and check-ups.
